Had a very nice outing to Rollingview SRA this morning with Sheree’.  Near the cemetery, we spent a good 10 minutes watching and listening to a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.  It was relatively birdy, White-throated Sparrows, Gnatcatchers, Red-eyed Videos, Cardinals, Crows and Blue Jays making up most of the song chorus.

Here is my first ever picture of an Ovenbird, taken near the gate that opens to the area where the bald eagle nest was before it blew down.

Ovenbird

Sheree’ heard a chick-burr sound but we were not able to locate the bird or  hear it call again.  Near home, I located a Louisiana Waterthrush and we now have a Hooded Wabler in the backyard.
